This place is really nice and super comfy. The location is fantastic, and the early check-in is a bonus. It's also just a short walk to downtown, which is great. Plus, there's a really good authentic restaurant nearby. 😄.

Rea Hotel Review. The rooms were a good size and had a cozy, home-like feel. The location was magnificent, situated just a short distance from the pedestrian street of Heraklion, the port, shopping areas, the main square, and various restaurants and food shops. The staff were wonderfully friendly and provided incredible service both day and night.

Fantastic place, soundproof rooms, courteous stuff. Excellent very central location, not far from Heraklion, and the center of the city. New building and rooms for a fridge. Had excellant climate control, a private safe, and multi-channel television...

We stayed in a queen room with a private bathroom for one day, and found the decor to be simple, the staff incredibly friendly, and the location superbly close to the center.

Only thing good about the hotel was the location.
First thing we noticed when we entered the room was the smell of cigarettes, even after days with the window open and sprayinf parfum, the smell would not go. Floor was also very dirty, with kairs everywhere (we mobbed the floor ourselves with one of our own towls, it was so dirty!) Beds where to hard, we used the extra blankets to put under our sheets for some comfort. Pillows were obviously very old, the stuff inside was diteriorating. Bathroom was very small and without a shower curtain everything was wet after you took a shower. Last but not least, when we asked the owner how we could get to the airport by bus, he first said we should take a taxi. After we insisted we wanted to take the bus, he showed us the way to the wrong busstation, where we eventually also had to take a taxi because it was getting late and the other busstion was on the other side of town and we did not want to miss our flight!

The hotel was in the center, 15 min walk from the bus station and port. It was able to check-in until midnight, which might be useful.
Of course you know that if you take a room wwith a shared bathroom, you don't have to expect luxury, but in this hotel it was really aweful! The bathroom/wc was a sea of water, there was no shower curtain and therefore the toilet was always wet too. The floor was also quite dirty ( under the water ). In a room with shared bathroom, one night is the maximum for me, just good enough for a transfer.

It had a very nice location and a relatively accommodating hotelier. The location made it easy to get anywhere in Old Iraklio with a ten minute walk to Bus Station A and a twenty-thirty minute walk to Station B. Also the air conditioner in the room was very effective.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
